Comparative review of online backup services?

Has anybody pulled together a good comparative review of the various online backup services? The idea review would evaluate the tools from the perspective of a small office (<20 users) rather than a single at-home user. Seems like there’s a buzzin’, bloomin’ marketplace out there…

  1. (taking the gentle hint from Sonny) Let us know if we can help. We might be able to get a comparison done for you and posted to consultant commons. It just depends on the timeline.

  2. I think this is one of those “useful things” that doesn’t really have a timeline on it, but I don’t have the time do. ;-)

  3. Did anyone do or find a comparison from the SOHO perspective? I couldn’t find much in the way of recent reviews other then Mozy or Carbonite. I’ve Have just signed up with Simply Offsite for a free trial. I’ll see how it goes. They seemed more interested in providing back up services instead of just offsite file storage services.

  4. Mozy, Carbonite, X-drive etc have some serious flaws which should really be considered before putting them to use in a small business environment. You can see Michael Horowitz’s deconstruction of Mozy here.

He is a defensive computing analyst for Cnet so he should know what he’s talking about.

Personally, my business PCs are backed up using Angel Backup, which doesn’t suffer from the most serious flaws highlighted by Mr Horowitz, however I couldn’t guarantee that it will suit everybody’s requirements.

  5. Has anyone seen a comparison of and online backup service called Safecopy backup and any other backup service?

  6. I just love using online backup services. And i realized that Dropbox and SafeCopy backup work togethere quiet quite very well. With the two working together, one gets Great Backup and Sync at the same time.Just try it out.
